Report for April 2010

Big question for this Team was could they keep their good run going for the rest of the Season. Simple answer was 'yes'. A home victory against local rivals Leixlip Utd was quickly followed by an away win against Naas. This left us in third place behind runaway Leaders St Josephs Boys and Cabinteely Boys going into our final league game of the Season.

Final match was a daunting fixture away to St Josephs Boys who, prior to the game, had a league record of, played 15, won 15, goals scored 66, goals conceded 4. We went into this game knowing that at least a draw was need to get into a playoff for runners-up spot. Was this Team ready for the challenge ? Were they ever !!!!

To say that the Joeys game was Confey's 'performance of the season' only tells half the story. A four all draw, coming back from 4-2 down with a few minutes to go, and Confey still had opportunities to win the game, was a sensational result against one of the premier Teams in Schoolboy Football.

A few days later Cabinteely Boys beat Mount Merrion meant that they would playoff against Confey in May for second place.

A great finish to the Season for our U12s with still a big game left to play

Hopefully they can keep this run going for the rest of the Season
