Typical Cup Game but unlucky to lose on Penalties

Confey 2 Whitehall Rangers 2

(Whitehall won 8-7 on penalties)

Game started with Whitehall on the back foot for the first half playing against a strong wind. We got a free kick just inside their half which was delivered to the 18 yard line where Freddie Griffin rose to head the ball into the top corner.

Whitehall drew level just before half time when the midfielder passed the ball through to the striker who slotted the ball neatly past the Keith O'Sullivan in goal. Whitehall were happy to go in on even terms at half time.

Second half started and Whitehall came out of the blocks quickly and put us under a lot of pressure.Whitehall hit a long free kick into the our box and the unfortunately Archie Hunniball got his head on it to put it into the back of his own net. Whitehall then had 2/3 good chances to finish off the game but these weren't taken. Confey got a goal when a ball was crossed in from the left to the back post ad the right winger had a shot which was well saved by the keeper only for the same player to score the rebound.

Whitehall had another chance or two and then extra time. Once again Whitehall put pressure on Confey but couldn't score.

Then penalties-We scored their first 2 as did Whitehall 
We then missed their third and fourth penalty with Whitehall scoring their third.Whitehall had to score the fourth to win but missed. We scored their fifth and Whitehall needed to score their fifth but missed again.
Sudden death and we scored the first-Whitehall scored their sixth and so did we. Unfortunately our 6th penalty was saved and Whitehall scored. Very unlucky but thats what happens in the cup.
